Welcome to the Transfer of Training survey

My name is Emily Hunter and I am conducting research as a part of my project towards my MSc in Occupational Psychology at Nottingham Trent University. The purpose of this research is to investigate the extent to which proactive personality affects the connection between a supportive work environment and learning from training.

Procedure

You will be asked to complete an online survey, consisting of a range of questions related to your experience at work. This questionnaire should only take roughly 10 minutes to complete.

Anonymity

No personally identifiable information will be collected, so the data will be kept anonymous. We will keep the anonymised data indefinitely or until the project has been completed. Moreover, as there are/ will be no personally identifiable information gathered in the collection process, when the date for withdrawing consent has passed, all anonymous IDs will be deleted once the closing date for participant withdrawal (1st May 2024) has passed.

Only processed data will appear in any project submissions and or publications. Your data will also be held on a secure password protected Nottingham Trent University folder when being processed for analysis. Only I, the researcher (Emily Hunter) and their supervisor (John Hudson) will have access to the data on here. No individual will be identifiable from the data they provide (but see next paragraph) after the withdrawal period stipulated below. No personally identifiable information will be collected or retained the end of this project. But this anonymised data will be stored in a secure manner, according to GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act 2018 regulations, in an anonymized format.

Withdrawing your data

To protect your anonymity, you will be asked to provide a unique identity number. Only the researcher and supervisor will have access to your responses. You will need this identity number if you want to contact us to withdraw your data. You have the right to withdraw from the experiment at any point during the procedure, and you may withdraw your data at any point up 1/05/24 (specific date to be confirmed following ethical approval). You may do either of these things without giving a reason to do so. If you wish to withdraw your data, before the cut off date, you will be provided with a link following the debrief of the survey. Using an anonymous link where you can provide your unique id in order to request the removal of your data, while maintaining your anonymity.

Upon completion of the experiment, you are free to email and ask questions you may have about the experiment or research in general. Support numbers will be made available to you after the experiment in case any of the issues raised during the experiment later prove to be upsetting to you. There are a range of sources available to you at the end of this experiment in case the nature of this experiment has caused you to think negatively about your work situation.

Participation is voluntary and greatly appreciated. If you are happy to take part in this research, you are over 18 and employed, please complete the following consent form. If you have any questions or concerns before, during or after your participation in this research my contact details, and those of my supervisor, are on the bottom of this form.

Thank you for agreeing to consider participating in this research project
