Participant Information Sheet 
 
We are researchers Nikki Stevenson, doctoral researcher, from Nottingham Trent University and Dr Nuray Turan from Karamaoglu Mehmet Bey University in Turkey who are exploring people's personality and other individual differences in relation to mental health and wellbeing. 
 
If you are 18 years of age or older, we would like to invite you to take part in our survey about your personality and mental health. The project has gone through the relevant NTU research ethics procedures and has been given a favourable ethics opinion by Nottingham Trent University’s Schools of Business, Law and Social Sciences Research Ethics Committee. Before you decide whether you would like to take part, it is important that you understand why the research is being done and what taking part will include. Please read the following information carefully. Please email us if anything is unclear, or if you would like any more information. 
 
What is the purpose of the survey?

The survey will collect information on cognitive flexibility, psychological capital and creativity. The information will be used to better understand these key aspects related to mental health and well-being. Who is running this survey? We are researchers Nikki Stevenson, doctoral researcher, from Nottingham Trent University and Dr Nuray Turan from Karamaoglu Mehmet Bey University in Turkey.

What does the survey involve?

You will be asked questions about your cognitive flexibility, psychological capital and creativity. and rate them in terms of to what extent they apply to you. If you wish to participate, please complete the consent form below, agreeing to all of the statements. Then complete the survey, which will take around 10 minutes.

Do I have to take part?

Participation in the study is completely voluntary. You can decide not to participate or to withdraw from the study at any time during completion and up to one month after completion.

Will my details be kept confidential?

This research is anonymous – thus, we do not collect personally identifying information, instead you will be asked to generate a unique identification number. Your data will be identified by this unique identification number in case of withdrawal. The researchers have a strict policy to ensure your data are kept confidential on password protected NTU OneDrive cloud accounts. Data will be kept for at least 10 years and deposited in the university data archive and a reputable data repository (OSF) to facilitate independent scrutiny of research results and future research, and teaching purposes.
 
Will I be compensated for my time?
 
Teachers participating in the project will have the chance to win a £20 shopping voucher. At the end of the survey you will be given the option to leave your email address by following a link to another survey. Your email address will be completely unlinked to the survey answers you provide should you wish to enter the prize draw.

What are the benefits/risks of taking part in the study?

There are no physical risks beyond normal day-to-day living associated with your participation in the project. What do I do if I no longer wish to participate in this study? If you wish to withdraw from the study, you have the right to do so up to one month after your participation in the research without providing any explanation.
